Orchestra - Amelie's Information Report

Every instrument for an orchestra is split onto four different families. The four families are percussion, strings, brass and woodwind.  There is a person who is called the conductor. The conductor waves a rod around so that his or her musicians know what tune to play.

One of the orchestra families is the string instruments. The string instrument are either plucked or used with a bow. My favourite string instrument is a violin.

Another family of instruments is percussion. Percussion instruments are played by striking or shaking the instruments. The bongos are like drums but played with your hands.

there is also the woodwind family. The four instruments that are in the woodwind family are the flute, oboe, clarinet and the bassoon.

The last family is the brass family. The brass family is also played by blowing air into it.

When these four families are played all together they make loud, inspiring music.
